new location (445 Main Street), the local clubs will be hosted
elsewhere. Please contact the club leaders for updates. We will be
having our grand re-opening in April, and the clubs will resume at that

Laughter Yoga

Laughter Yoga is non-political, non-religious, and non-competitive.
We laugh for better health, joy and world peace. Attendance is free,
and sessions are held Monday mornings in
the Inkwell event room. No sessions on holidays that fall on a Monday.
Goodwin, a certified Laughter Yoga leader and psychotherapist, explains
that, “Laughter Yoga is a physically oriented technique, not a mental
practice.” Laughter Yoga is a worldwide social movement.

gathering of knitters. The Circle meets weekly in the Inkwell Events room. Start making progress on your ongoing projects!

Calligraphy Club
This
is a combination workshop and club. All levels of calligraphers are
welcome. We encourage you to learn at your own pace, and come to
meetings when you have the time. You are welcome to work on your own
projects, or you may join our explorations of different fonts. We are
currently studying italic and copperplate hands. The club meets on the first and third Sundays each month.

Independent Writers' Club
Four years strong, the Independent Writers’ Club is free and welcomes
new members at every level of writing. Occasionally publishers,
editors, authors and other prominent personalities are invited as guest
speakers. Participants are asked to read Julia Cameron’s two books: The Artist’s Way and The Right to Write.
The Club’s founder and moderator is Madeleine I. Felker, a published
author and educator with more than 30 years teaching experience in
Boston, Cambridge, and Cape Cod. The Club meets year-round on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays.

The Well and the Mine

welcome. Our book club was established for two reasons: first to
give us (Inkwellians) an excuse to talk to one another about books, and
second to highlight lesser known gems that won't appear on bestseller
lists. Michelle and Kathleen welcome all readers to join our
conversations about books. We’ll be meeting monthly at the Inkwell, and complimentary refreshments will be served.
A novel of warmth and true feeling, The Well
and the Mine explores the value of community, charity, family, and
hope that we can give each other during a time of hardship.
In a
small Alabama coal-mining town during the summer of 1931, nine-year-old
Tess Moore sits on her back porch and watches a woman toss a baby into
her family’s well without a word. This shocking act of violence sets in
motion a chain of events that forces Tess and her older sister Virgie to
look beyond their own door and learn the value of kindness and lending a
helping hand. As Tess and Virgie try to solve the mystery of the well,
an accident puts their seven-year-old brother’s life in danger, forcing
the Moore family to come to a new understanding of the power of love and

Mississippi, Huck is forced to ponder the nature of friendship and to
find a sense of his own moral vision.

We are on the lookout for talent! We invite musicians to come and play in our store for an hour or two. If you play an instrument, and are looking for a different venue, send us an email.
